Bayport is in the Town of Islip, in Suffolk County New York. Bayport is in the middle of Blue Point and Sayville, New York and is on the south shore of Long Island. There were 3,222 households out of which 33.8% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 60.0% were married couples living together, 8.8% had a female householder with no husband present, and 28.5% were non-families. 23.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 11.4% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 3.20.
Bayport is in the Bayport Blue Point schools district and does not provide school buses for their students. Bayport does have its own aerodrome which is one of the last of its kind on Long Island. Bayport is also known being the last town before Nichols road.
